About the event
Halifax based, Lisa Richard, is a talented country singer songwriter who captivates listeners with her powerful vocal range and true passion for music, and thus life. Her vocal stylings have been compared to the likes of Cher, Wynonna Judd and Tracy Chapman. She’s also been called ‘a soulful Anne Murray.’ In 2022, Lisa Richard released her debut full length album, Promises Kept, produced by CCMA Hall of Famer, Jason Barry & Danny Bourgeois. The first single, Uniforms, is a very meaningful song Lisa co-wrote (Rick Tiger & Jeff Wanex) years after surviving a near fatal accident. Uniforms achieved rotation on Sirius XM CBC Country radio and was also featured on WSM Grand Ole Opry radio with Devon O’Day. ‘Uniforms’ celebrates the heroes that come into our lives and leave a lasting impact. Promises Kept is nominated for the 2022 Country Recording of the Year at the Music Nova Scotia Music Awards.
Lisa has won the CBC Searchlight Top 10 Regional Contest (Nova Scotia) and was a nominee for multiple Josie Music Award and International Singer Songwriters Association Awards. She was nominated for Country Artist of the Year at the 2018 Music Nova Scotia Music Awards and selected for the Songbird Super Series Showcase at the 2019 East Coast Music Awards and the 2019 WSM Grand Ole Opry Radio Songbird Jubilee in Nashville. Her cover of “Jolene”, which was performed in Nashville, alongside Vince Gill and The Time Jumpers has reached over 140,000 people online.
